The new Cotinus coggygria 'Old Fashioned' PBR is found between seedlings of Cotinus coggygria. The plant was attracting my attention by its striking
rounded leaves, so they are rather big in comparison with Cotinus coggygria. In summer the leaves are bluish-green with reddish petioles. The young growth
is dark-pink. In autumn the leaves turn into old-pink and orange-pink-red, what looks very showy from a distance.
The plant grows fast with bold one-years branches over 1m. long. Not so showy are the flowers.
I think the new Cotinus coggygria 'Old Fashioned' PBR is very useful for floriculture. Also you can use the plant as ornamental in the bigger garden, but
than you have to prune it hard, so that on one-years branches the beautiful formed leaves show their best.
